Day 27 ~ Tundra Wilderness Tour

Eight hours on a bus…

But it was worth it. I’m not sure Larry agrees with me. They told us it was a refurbished prison bus. Larry wasn’t built to sit on a crowded bus for any length of time. Since people aren’t really allowed to drive through the park in private vehicles, this is the best way to see the park. The tour was arranged by Fantasy Tours for just our group, so that was a plus. No screaming kids to deal with (just one “service” dog). Just a LOT of beautiful scenery. And some wildlife…

Nice views of the mountain!

The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Even though we were in Denali, the focus was on the wildlife. Since a lot of the wildlife is further away than the naked eye or most cell phone cameras can appreciate, the driver had a very good camera that was wired into the video screens so we got to see eagles, caribou and such much better than without it. The only thing that we got close to was a mama grizzly bear and her two cubs.

And just some very pretty country…
