Day 47 ~ Our Day in Palmer

A visit to the Anchorage suburbs…

In our one day in Palmer, we (OK, Larry) wanted to go to the Musk Ox farm. I should know better, we had a good time. Musk Ox are basically ugly cows. But they are in the same family as goats and their undercoat is supposedly the warmest fiber in the world! Its called Qivuit and I hope its true, because I bought a cowl. I’m not taking it off until I get to Yuma!

Also, I am waiting for the day when I can use the word Qiviut, playing Words With Friends!

See what I mean, UGLY COW!

Aren’t the babies cute? NOT!

In the afternoon, we drove up to Hatcher Pass. I have no idea what the backstory is, but it really is beautiful and there is an old mining town there. You can take a tour and what not. We didn’t take the tour, but it sure was a popular place for being so remote. Lots of people there.

Last but not least, we followed the Little Susitna river. Well, the road followed the river and Larry followed the road, but it was pretty stinkin’ pretty.
