Just WOW!
Two days, three nights in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Denali (f.k.a. Mt. McKinley) is the highest point in North America. So high it makes its own weather. We have been to Denali before, on our anniversary trip, but its definitely worth a visit anytime. The drive was amazing too!
We stopped for breakfast at McDonald’s in Fairbanks before we left (anyone who knows us is shocked, stunned and amazed). The clerk had Edna on display. I asked her if I could buy one, since there are no breakfast happy meals. She gave this to me. Edna is my spirit animal!
We had a great time, this time too. We went on an all day bus tour through the park. They do not allow many vehicles in the park, only be special permit. You can camp in a couple places, but you have to drive to your spot, park and not move your vehicle until you are ready to leave. And you must stay a minimum of three days. It would be great if you liked to hike or ride a bicycle.
We also went to a vaudeville show and did the pre-requisite just driving around taking in the beautiful sites. Also, a stop at a quilting store. I only bought eight fat quarters. I restrained myself!
