From the Everyday Cheapskate
I wear glasses, almost everyone in my family wears glasses. I HATE dirty glasses. I keep a bottle of this little miracle and a microfiber cloth in each car, in the arm of my chair, in my beside table, in my purse. BTW, the cute little bottles are from the Dollar Tree. They come in a pack of two.
- 3 parts 70% isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol
- 1 part distilled water
- 2-3 drops of Blue Dawn
Fill a spray bottle of any size three-quarters full of 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol (91% or 99% are fine to use here, but they are more costly and not necessary). If you only have 50%, up it to 4 parts alcohol. Add Blue Dawn dishwashing liquid and fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water. Gently shake or roll the bottle to mix, so as to not create a lot of bubbles.
Spray Bottle / Quantity | Alcohol | Water |
12 ounces | 1 cup | 1/3 cup |
16 ounces | 1-1/2 cups | 1/2 cup |
24 ounces | 2-1/4 cups | 3/4 cups |
32 ounces | 3 cups | 1 cup |
To use: Spray both sides of your lenses, and gently rub them clean with a microfiber cloth.
NOTE: In an abundance of caution, please run this by your optician if you are at all hesitant.
