Days 22 – 23 ~ Fast Track to Fairbanks

After our delay in Haines, we wanted to catch up with gang in Fairbanks. So…

We got out of Haines at about 12:30 pm. Thanks so much to Bigfoot Auto Service, who put Pearl (our 2015 Dodge Ram 3500) back together and Haines Hitch Up RV Park, who put up with us for four extra days! We made it to Destruction Bay (213 miles) the first night. The Canadian border crossing was pretty painless this time, just a few questions.

Of course, the scenery was wonderful. Beautiful. Amazing. Et cetera.

For breakfast, we stopped at Buckshot Betty’s and this little guy decided to stop and check in on us. My sister-in-law, Vicki, tells me this is a good omen. I’m not so sure.

To catch up   , we decided to blow right through Tok and push onto Fairbanks in one day. It was a hard 422 miles, but it was worth it. No issues with crossing back into the United States. They say that the first crossing is the worst. We have to cross over a few more times, so hopefully, “they” are right.

Can anyone tell me just who “they” are? I’m dying to know.
