Finally in Fairbanks!
Fairbanks, Alaska holds a special place in my heart. Larry and I went on an Alaska cruise for our 25th anniversary and spent June 14, 2005 in Fairbanks. We didn’t spend a lot of time in Fairbanks during that trip, but it sure seems like Fairbanks has grown up! The resort we stayed at in 2005 is still there, the River’s Edge. It looks the same, but they have added more cabins and an RV park that looks pretty nice. Always good to know for next time.
We actually stayed in an RV park in the North Pole. Well, North Pole, Alaska, which is a little south of Fairbanks. Its a small-ish suburb that has made a cottage industry out of Santa Claus. Its really fun!
While we were in Fairbanks, we also did a tour of an old gold dredge and got some info on the Alaska pipeline. We also did quite a bit of our usual just driving around. The day was rainy and for some reason, all of the pictures taken that day came out a little blurry.
