Some of the best (read easiest) access to a real, life glacier!
Fantasy RV Tours arranged for all who wanted, to take a hike with a real, life ranger to get up close and personal with Exit Glacier. You can’t actually touch it, but you can get pretty darn close. The ranger was pretty knowledgeable, considering that she was from San Diego and this was her first year in Alaska.
They have these signs all along the path of the glacier. They use the age of the trees and the variety of vegetation to calculate the time frames, pre-satellite. Now they just spy on them, like everyone and everything else!
A couple of pictures of the view along the way. Beautiful.
Spectacular.
And here’s my honey, at the foot of the glacier. This is a good picture of the famous glacier blue. I’m sure they explained it, but darned if I can remember now.
