Home to Musk Ox, Hatcher Pass and the Urgent Care
It was a really short trip from Kenai to Palmer. It felt like we were going backward, because we retraced some of our steps, Palmer being a suburb of Anchorage. And of course, Wasilla is next door. But we didn’t see hide nor hair of Sarah Palin. We were only in Palmer two nights, only one day.
The day we arrived, we also swung into the Urgent Care. I have had a sebaceous cyst under my arm for at least ten years. For whatever reason (or maybe no reason at all) it started getting all swollen and pussy. I took a picture, but will not share it here. Just say thank you. I wouldn’t have worried about it, except it was just in the wrong place, bugging me all the time and keeping me up and night. NEVER a good thing. Off to the Urgent Care we go. The PA decided the best course of treatment was to just cut it out. And he did. In the office. He showed me the cyst when he dug it out. It looked like a teeny, tiny kidney. But its all better now. Is it weird that I wish I had taken a picture?
The next day, we did the Palmer tourist-y thing. A visit to the Musk Ox Farm, and a drive to Hatcher Pass. What can I say, Alaska is still beautiful.
